Hopi ear candles and professional ear piercing

Hopi ear candles

At Total Image Clinic, we embrace the timeless wisdom of Hopi ear candle therapy, also known as auricular therapy or thermo-auricular therapy. This gentle, non-invasive treatment offers a deeply relaxing experience whilst potentially helping to address common ear, nose and throat concerns through the ancient practice of ear candling.

Hopi ear candles are hollow tubes made from natural materials including organic cotton or linen, beeswax, honey, and healing herbs such as sage, St. John's wort and chamomile. Despite their name, these therapeutic candles were not originally used by the Hopi tribe, but have been employed by various ancient civilisations for centuries.

Ear piercing

Ear piercing is carried out with sterile equipment by a professional who cleans the area, marks the spot, and pierces quickly and precisely. Aftercare involves keeping the piercing clean with saline solution and avoiding touching it with unwashed hands.

Healing time varies by location — earlobes usually heal in 6–8 weeks, while cartilage piercings can take 3–12 months. During healing it's important to leave the initial jewellery in place and follow the cleaning routine we provide, to prevent infection.

Most people can be pierced safely, though anyone with certain medical conditions or metal allergies should check with a doctor first.
